Self-Defense Level Three integrates everything learned in Levels One and Two and introduces one of the most challenging aspects of real-world self-defense: protecting an innocent party during a violent encounter.

This advanced, hands-on course focuses on maintaining control and awareness while defending against individual or multiple attackers and weapon threats, all while safely moving and shielding another person. Whether you are protecting a child, spouse, friend, or client, this course teaches the principles and tactics needed to keep both yourself and others safe under pressure.

What You’ll Learn

In Level Three, students will train in:

  • Protecting and positioning an innocent party

  • Movement and communication while escorting another person

  • Creating opportunities to escape together

  • Defending against multiple attackers

  • Practical weapon defense

  • Advanced striking, blocking, passing, and trapping

  • Staying on your feet under dynamic pressure

Prerequisite

Completion of Self-Defense Level Two (or instructor approval) is strongly recommended before enrolling in this course. You may attend a skills assessment to determine eligibility to join this class without prior participation. Please see our Assessments page for more information.

  • Schedule: Every Saturday, 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

  • Location: Iron Fit Gym, 435 W. Commercial Street East Rochester NY

  • Tuition: $100 per month, discount plans available at purchase.

  • Bonus: Includes one guest pass each month so you can invite a friend to train ($20 per session for guests without a pass)

Important Requirements

This is an advanced, physically demanding course requiring active participation in drills and partner exercises.

You’ll Need:

  • A mouthguard

  • Comfortable athletic clothing

  • Sneakers or flat-soled, lace-up shoes

  • Water

  • A focused and open mindset
